Title: Linda White – Thornton, CO – “Stars to Black Women”
Author: Deleted user

Category: We The People

Description: These are some of the women who worked for justice, equality, and human rights for which we have all benefitted. Many were pushed to the back, not allowed to sit at the table, not allowed to speak. They may be little known or overlooked. They may have had to deal with racism or sexism in their own race or their own sex. The “Stars to Black Women” is an acknowledgement of their achievements and ongoing struggles. Women’s Suffrage Movement – Sojourner Truth, Ida B. Wells, Mary Church Terrell; Civil Rights Movement - Ella Baker, Dorothy Height; #MeToo – 2006 – Tarana Burke; Black Lives Matter – 2013 – Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, Opal Tometi. Inspiration from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, 29 July 2020
