Meetings and Calendar

We meet the first Saturday of the month 10:30 a.m., except when the first Saturday falls on a holiday weekend or is preempted for another event, and then we meet on the second Saturday. (Example: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day). Our meetings are warm and friendly and include a brief business meeting, show and share, and a workshop or lecture.  Workshops and lectures last until 4:00 pm unless otherwise noted.

2019  25th Anniversary Year:  Wa Shonaji 25 Years of Embracing the Past and Envisioning the Future

Monthly Schedule and Workshops:

  • Meeting – March 2, 2019 – Round Robin led by Artie Johnson. Camilla will present an “HST Explosion”  which is a simple tutorial that can be helpful in a pinch or for quick gifts, especially for babies and comfort quilts”.   Artie will kick off a round robin for all who want to join.  Remember to bring you African Queen or King Block.  We will also be collecting 12″ Quilts and their history for our August Exhibit.  Please place in a pillow case, no plastic bags please.

  • Meeting – April 6, 2019 – Sew-In, four hours to sew on anything your heart may desire to sew.  Last due date for 12″ Quilts and History for our August Exhibit.  Please place in a pillow case, no plastic bags please.

  • Meeting – May 4, 2019 – Hanging Sleeve led by Linda White and Marking Bags, Pillow cases and etc. for Carrying your quilts lead by Artie Johnson.  

  • Meeting – June 8, 2019 – Making Bags Class led by Karen Blackmon. 

  • June 22, 2019 – North Local Shop Hop – Board the minibus and set out for a day of shopping.  We will visit 5 Quilt shops in Fort Collins, Loveland and Windsor. 

  • June 11, 2019 – Rocky Mountain Wa Shonaji Quilt Guild will be presenting a Trunk Show at Longmont Quilt Guild.  6:30 pm located at Faith Community Lutheran Church at 9775 Ute Highway, Longmont, CO.

  • Meeting – July 13, 2019 – Christmas in July, 3 separate workshops.  Members will rotate to learn to make three unique projects-perfect for gifts. Jewelry making, fabric bead making, and quilted ornaments will be taught.

  •  August 10, 2019 – August 2019 Reception

  • Meeting – September 14, 2019 -Jelly Roll Race presented by Mary Lassiter

  • Meeting – October 5, 2019 – Hand Embroidery and quilting led by Artie Johnson

  • 2019 Retreat – November 1-4 – at Highlands Presbyterian Camp and Retreat 

  • Meeting – November 9, 2019

  •  Annual Luncheon – December 14, 2019
